I don’t normally read romance novels, but Take My Hand by Kristen Hogrefe Parnell surprised me—in the best way. Blending elements of romance, suspense, and faith, the story kept me turning pages.
Kaley, a therapist in Tampa, recently ended her relationship with Reef, though her feelings for him haven’t faded. When their church young adult group heads for a ski trip in North Carolina, Kaley and Reef find themselves thrown back together. What neither of them knows is that Kaley’s newest client—a mob informant—has put her life in danger.
As the mob closes in, Kaley faces more than external threats. Reef still cares deeply for her, another young woman is vying for his attention, and friendships within the group are tested. The novel doesn’t just deliver thrills—it weaves in meaningful themes of forgiveness, trust, and accepting people as they are.
Even if romance isn’t your usual genre, Take My Hand offers more than a love story. It’s a suspenseful, faith-centered read with memorable characters and heart.
